News from Laroussi lake
Jan 2024
2024 January News, 2nd Jan
First of all, happy new year to everyone. Best wishes and plenty of big fish!
Laroussi 2023 season has been very good. The new fish introduction from our stockpond and the catfish removal has paid off.
The fish growth is proving the lake balance is back (only 23 catfish were caught and removed). Many 2023 anglers reported us they really appreciated the new scaley stockies.
One of them put on many pounds in just a few months. Fortunately, we’ve got all stages pictures to share of that particular fish.
Photo 1 - 6lb 8oz in 2022 January in the stock pond
Photo 2 - 23lb in 2022 December. In only 11 months. Introduced at Laroussi at the same time.
Photo 3 - 35lb 4oz at the end of October 2023, caught in Laroussi.
That’s some growth!
Photo 4 - today (02/01/2024), the very first Laroussi carp has been landed this morning at 37lb.
This winter, the fishing conditions are good; the average temperature is around 10°C. The water temperature is 10°C too, so the fish are still active. The actual winter breaks are very interesting so you can come and enjoy winter fishing right now.
Getting excited about this new 2024 season!

Laroussi Summer News, 6th Oct
The last 2 months have been really good on the bank of Laroussi, many fish have been caught through the summer up to now. We strongly believe the new fish stocking done last december has pushed the original stock to feed more by competing with the new stockies.
In January 2021, the stockies were all weighing 6lb8oz. Eleven months later, the biggest reached 23lb! This summer, many were between 26 and 29lb already (all ziplinear, fully scaled and heavy plated).
The week starting on the 22th of July was the begining of a crazy fishing session! Christopher Richards and his brother had 42 bites
together, which is amazing for first timers on Laroussi.
Then, Ashley Mitchell had a terrific time with 52 bites and landed 45 fish! Plenty of stunning fish, some heavy plated fish, the big fully scaled and beautiful commons. That’s the biggest haul for one angler for many years. Congratulations Ashley!
Then the first 2 fish for Rik Le Ray were 2 fifties!
The following week, mid august, Aurélien had 25 bites and landed 21 fish. All fish were carp up to 57lb (all fish caught on our wafter).
The next 3 weeks produced 20 bites for 17 fish, 30 runs for 27 fish and 40 bites for 35 fish!
The grass carp average for the all season is still over 50lb and the lake record has been broken twice. First time, early september at
65lb 6oz, and the second time the 21th of September at 67lb (a different fish).
Another lake record has been broken : the monster cat has finally been landed at 187lb for 2.15m. What a beast!!
As for all the other catfish caught this season, we are still removing all of them.
Some great tench weighing 8lb2oz, 9lb2oz, 8lb5oz, 7lb5oz and 2X10lb have been caught too.
The autumn promises to be good! There are still some free weeks in october and november. At this time of the year, you can expect an
extra 5 to 7lb on each fish.
Tight lines!
