Angling Lines Specials tempt 48lb Mirror at Laroussi!, 1st Jan

The Angling Lines Specials boilies have really got off to a flying start at our Laroussi venue this week, where the first fish of the season, a 48lb 4oz mirror, fell to the bait.

On the 15 March at 10:15pm French carper, Bruno Grosbois, landed this superb mirror from the fifteen acre gravel pit after baiting his line for the first time with these new carp baits. His tactics consisted of a standard safety clip set up with 3oz pear lead, a size 6 Kamazan hook on a Mantis hooklink. Fishing on a sloping bottom of sand and gravel from the Point swim, in about 12 feet of water.

Bruno had baited with about 1 kilo of pellets and around 30 free offerings. The water temperature was at just six degrees. Just for good measure he followed this fish with one of 36lb 5oz the next day. The 48lb'er represents a new personal best for the angler and is a fantastic start to the season for a venue that promises to throw up some spectacular catches this year.

It's worth noting that the Angling Lines Specials were particularly effective for Angling Lines director David Keep during his session in October 2004, where he landed some 30 carp to 49lb plus.

New Pb mirror!, 1st Jan

The friend of Mr Kirk has just caught a new Pb mirror! And what a fish! The most difficult carp and the most prettiest carp of the lake.

This fish has just been caught once in 2.5 years!!! 2 years ago the same fish was 33lb. Now the fish is in immaculate condition and came out at 38lb 8oz!!!! New lake record fully scaled!! Lovely fish!!! In my opinion, the best looking fish of the lake.

TOP TOP TOP TOP TOP ANGLING!!!!

Season 2024 at Laroussi lake,

French 2024 weather has been very similar to UK, very wet and not much sun, which wasn’t ideal for fishing.

Despite those conditions, Laroussi did fished well, with many good weeks up to 50 fish for the best week of the season. 20lber, 30lber, 40lber, 50lber and some 60lber common and mirror, a superb grass carp weight average of nearly 60lb and some big tench up to 11lb6oz were all landed by many happy anglers.

Very few catfish were caught (17) which is a great news, probably the end !

As many regular anglers noticed this year, no weed at all, dye color is working perfectly. This new 100% organic product doesn’t affect the fishing AT ALL, which is a very good point.

The last fish introduced have put on a lot of weight, and should reach 40+ in the spring, which is fast considering they were only 6lb two years ago.

Many beautiful zip linears, fully scaled and heavy plated were caught. (check the photos)

As promised to many of you, here the results of the giant pumpkins we grew organically at Laroussi this season.

We ended with 3 pumpkins weighing 1661lb, 1822lb (2025 French champion), and 1974lb.

Thank you and see you in 2025 !
