Myself I took six fish in "No Carp bay", ? All carp ??? 45+ GC, 43+GC, 41+ GC, X2 34+ GC, and a fifteen pound common. I fished at 28 wraps using bait boats, I found a clear area in 9ft of water, coming up to 5ft getting to a level just short of being alongside point swim. Aiming at wes bivvy on L Ance. I used a marker float clipped up to keep four rods in a nice tight linefrom marker float to the raised area with wooden fence at point, down bank. Lost two fish too. Hoping for a big 40+ mirror but didnt happen. Peter Allen, fished Les 2 Saules all week, which looked "sexy as" all week with the wind absolutely driving in to the whole bay to Mehdi's house and cabin. However, not a run happened there until after dark on friday night (last chance saloon) I think he had four runs, three lost that came off the barbless hook, one felt like a massive fish ? 60+ and played for half hour before coming off. He did finally bank a fish a cracking mirror at 48 and ? A quarter. The fish was weighed on two sets of scales because of the big fish money we all contributed to. The money went to wes, but ambiguity about the second weighing has now made us realise that Pete's fish did weigh 52 and half with a half dry weigh sling,, but we know it weighs four and half pounds soaking wet. So 48 and quarter is a fair weight. Balance had been restored.

General Comments:
Mehdi has been working hard all year, removing Sturgeon, Catfish, and mid range 20 to 40pound grass carp. He has been removing many snags from around the lake and says this winter he will launch a massive winter pruning of many many more branches that enter the lake deeply. The water level is quite low and this should help for Mehdi to get in there with his chainsaw and make the snags much much better. Noone in our grp had any problems with sturgeon or carp trailing leads giving false runs. I found only very mild weed out at range, there was weed around the edges but Mehdi has furnished the lake with a brilliant drag and line, left on the bank. I did my bit and removed all the close in weed from NCB. I always like to help Mehdi when I can. I dont like to fish a swim unless weed and overhanging branches are trimmed. I could have fished plage, but I thought it would be nice to leave that vacant, to ease the open water pressure from L Ance to me, as we were all fishing with bait boats. I think it paid off as wes took big fish and Sam taking Ghost Common at 54and half. Him holding that fish in water was just meant to be 😠Alex is a top angler in a top swim but it. Didnt happen for him in Birches ( my swim of choice so productive in the past) he and sam spombed out to save room in an estate car, but they should have had more fish. Not sure what the problem was, Cliff finally had a 40+ with us and took a mid 40+ just to demonstrate it was no fluke. Great bit of fishing for him in a challenging swim.

Rik’s fish: grass carp 48.8lb grass carp 36.8lb 2 x commons 18lb 20lb plus some small cats 10lb ish Ollie’s fish: common 18lb Grass carp 37.8lb Mirror 31lb. Catfish 74lb catfish 150lb plus smaller cats to around 20lb
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
Using plenty of Mehdi’s partiblend and hemp good amount over each bait if the fish are feeding hard small amounts if the fishing is slow. I used my normal rigs with fake corn on all rods some pink some yellow, nothing special about rigs just used what I have confidence in.

General Comments:
I fished Laroussi 10 years ago and blanked on one trip and had one fish on the second trip a small common but I always wanted to return I feel I now have a very good idea of how to approach this lake. The lake holds massive fish which we saw many times in the margins snags etc had I done what I started doing on day 4 I would have caught at least 1 fish per night possibly more. One thing we think is important is to work hard in your swim with the marker rod don’t be scared to use it and watch the lake for fish moving about they will show you where they are and take on board Mehdi’s advice he is always very helpful and on the end of the phone. We will be back very soon, thanks again to Mehdi, was great to be back.
