News from Beaurepaire lake

Feb 2025

Rodent Management, 3rd Feb

To help manage the rodent issue this year, plastic storage boxes will be provided to ensure everyone can securely store their food. Additionally, closed rubbish bins will be introduced to maintain cleanliness and keep the area rodent-free. In the kitchen, an ultra-sound device will be installed to actively repel rats and mice.

However, as always, any lake relies on the co-operation of anglers to keep their food and bait off the ground in order to control rodents. We hope these new measures will make that easier :-)

Water Levels Update, 8th Aug

Water levels are still high (for August anyway!) this year and that means the weed isn't too much of an issue, although of course still present. The good news is that the spit is now above the water level and fishable.

Water Levels, 25th Jun

After the wettest spring, water levels are still high on Beaurepaire (although gradually going down). See photos from today, 25th June.

As you can see from the first photo - the largest spit is still underwater and so fishing is from the outside perimeter currently.

Spawning & other things!, 29th Jun

Fishing has been quite up and down over the last few weeks, we think due to weather cycle - the carp don't seem to have had a big spawn in one go, but it has been a strange year and quite late now so spawning may well be all over.

The weed was treated in early 2023 and so is not causing issues. Obviously hot weather makes the weed grow more so its growth always depends on that which we cannot predict, but we are actively managing it.
